 Web Based Classes
GKN classes are web-based, that is the class 'lectures' and assignments
are delivered through the Internet. When you sign up for a web class you will
get the Internet 'class site' of the class. Information on the
website will tell you how to progress through the class and what
will be expected of you. Most classes use discussion forums,
wikis, blogs, PowerPoint presentations, videos, podcasts, and other
multi media products.
Being a successful web class student includes logging into the network regularly
and completing assignments on time, taking responsibility for
contacting your instructor if you are having trouble and making
steady progress through the class.
The Gifted Kids Network is an online gifted education
program combining accelerated classes, enrichment, and social
networking. The Gifted Kids Network utilizes
technologies such as wikis, blogs, social bookmarking, collaborative
documents, podcasting and video or photo sharing to create a virtual
gifted program that is collaborative, connected, and social.
Enrichment Clusters are small
group research projects designed around student
interests.
